100% Income Tax Save: Karnataka man’s satire video on how to save 100% income tax is viral – Watch

Income Tax Save: Karnataka man went viral on social media after dispensing “financial advice” to salaried taxpayers on “saving 100 per cent income tax.” Content creator Shrinidhi Hande posted the satirical video on Instagram after the Union Budget 2024 was presented on July 23, explaining how salaried individuals could save 100 per cent income tax by “growing and selling grass to their employers”.

Hande’s video, which has garnered over 2 million views on Instagram, was also shared on X by chartered accountant Akhil Pachori. Social media users couldn’t help but laugh out loud over the video that is swiftly going viral on X as well.

“In this video, I will tell you how to save 100 per cent on income tax,” Hande said, as he listed the three steps of the “very easy, legal and simple process.”

“Step one: You have to grow grass in your home or on your balcony or on your terrace, and it is a very, very legal process. Now, go to the HR and tell them you don’t want any salary. They would be happy. Tell your HR that your company should buy grass from you to the tune of your salary. If your salary is Rs 50,000, maybe they can buy 50 strands of grass for Rs 1,000 each. Completely legal process,” Hande said.

Explaining the “logic” behind his advice, Hande said, “Now what happens, your income from salary becomes zero and all you have is income from selling agricultural produce which is not taxable in India. This way, you can save 100 per cent on income tax. No need to worry about TDS or investment.”

“Indians really do have a jugaad for everything,” is the common sentiment in the comments section after the video went viral.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman revamped income tax slabs under the new regime in Union Budget 2024 in a bid to make it more attractive. The standard deduction limit was also hiked from Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000, marking an increase of Rs 25,000.
