In this, new facilities like mandi information on e-nam, integration of IMD weather forecast information with e-nam platform and cooperative module have been given. On this occasion, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said, e-Naam project or agricultural reform bill, all these are going to improve the standard of living of the farmers, increase the income of the farmers, bring prosperity in the house of the farmers, Children of farmers are going to be attracted towards agriculture. Therefore, the Government of India is working on it with full determination.

These facilities will be available on E-NAM

E-NAM brings digital reach of farmers digitally to many markets and buyers and brings transparency in business transactions with the intention of improving the price. At the same time it also develops the concept of “one nation-one market” for price and agricultural produce according to quality. Keeping in mind the need to make the market of agricultural products easier for farmers, E-Naam was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 14 April 2016 with 21 mandis, now about 1000 mandis in 18 states, 3 union territories. I have reached the success of e-nam. Now it has been decided to add 1000 additional mandis.

Its objective is to build an integrated national agricultural electronic market. Under this portal, farmers and mandis from all over the country have to register. At present, more than 1.70 crore farmers and 1.63 lakh traders have been registered on the e-name platform.

These new features will be available

  • Mandi information page has been added on this portal and app, which is designed to provide real time prices of commodities traded in e-nam mandis of the respective state to farmers in a single web page.
  • The purpose of the co-operative business module provided in e-nam is to facilitate the co-operatives to trade near the farmgate of the members without bringing the produce from their collection centers / warehouses to the APMC.
  •  Indian Meteorological (IMD), including weather forecast information, e-nam mandis and surrounding areas will get information of maximum and minimum temperature along with rain and thunderstorm information. Weather information will help farmers in harvesting and making market decisions.

Lockdown is a better option for farmers

During the lockdown of Kovid-19, the ministry took several steps to ease congestion in the wholesale markets and streamline the supply chain, which proved to be very useful for e-nam farmers and traders.




Option to upload your produce for online sale

Farmers are free to register on the e-nam portal and they are uploading their produce for sale through online on all e-nam mandis with merchants and traders are available for sale in e-nam from any location Can bid for the lot. The total combined trade worth an estimated Rs.1.30 lakh crore has been recorded on the e-nam platform.

Online and transparent system mobile apps also exist

The e-name platform / mobile app has been further strengthened with farmer-friendly features, such as advance registration of lots through the app, which in turn will reduce waiting time for farmers at the entrance gate of the mandi and greater efficiency And will facilitate recording of arrival of agricultural produce at the gate, farmers can now check quality check reports on their mobiles, through mobile farmers can see the progress of online bids of their lots and farmers can see prices in the surrounding mandis You can also get real-time information.

Payment facility through BHIM

Electronic weighing scales have been provided for weighing farmers’ items correctly after bidding on the e-Naam platform to bring transparency in weighing. Payment to farmers by merchants can now be made through mobile phones using the BHIM payment facility.
