Sikkim Government Hike DA: A new state government has been formed in Sikkim yesterday and Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) President Prem Singh Tamang took oath as the Chief Minister of Sikkim for the second consecutive time on Monday. As soon as he took the oath, the Sikkim government gave a good gift to the state government employees and increased their dearness allowance. The Sikkim government has increased the dearness allowance of government employees and pensioners by 4 percent. This increased dearness allowance has been considered effective from July 1, 2023.
Sikkim’s Tamang government took a big decision
In its first cabinet meeting, the Tamang government of Sikkim, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has increased the DA of employees and pensioners to 46 percent. By implementing this, the state government will have a total financial burden of Rs 174.6 crore in this financial year. The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha government has made the state government happy by taking this decision.
What did the Chief Minister say after the first cabinet meeting of the Sikkim government
Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) chief Tamang said that the priority of his government in this term would be electricity, water, roads, health, education and employment. The SKM chief said that despite facing serious challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic, his party won the assembly elections due to the development work done by his government.
On his party’s support to the Modi government, he said that we had supported the NDA even in my first term. We will always support the NDA because it has supported our state. Tamang also said that earlier Sikkim did not get any support from the central government, but after Narendra Modi ji came to power, we are getting full support for the development of the state.

Officials said that after the 4 percent increase in dearness allowance, it has increased to 46 percent and the Sikkim government is fully capable of handling the financial burden of Rs 174.6 crore in the current financial year.
