Under the order, 3 percent annual arrears will be paid with the calculation of point 25 i.e. 0.25 percent in every month’s salary. The arrears of DA of the employees will be paid from the beginning of the financial year 2024-25 i.e. 1st April 2024. This payment will be made at the rate of 1.5 percent.
HP Employees Arrears: There is good news for lakhs of government employees and pensioners of Himachal Pradesh. Before Holi, the Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu government of the state has given a big gift to about five lakh government employees and pensioners. The Sukhu government on Monday issued orders to pay the outstanding arrears of the Sixth Pay Commission to employees and pensioners. The arrears will be paid from January 2016.
Arrears of revised pay scale to be paid from 2016
According to the order issued by the Finance Department, arrears of revised pay scale will be paid to regular government employees from January 1, 2016 and DA arrears will be paid to employees and pensioners from July 1, 2022. In the notification issued by Devesh Kumar, Principal Secretary, Finance Department of the State Government, the permission letter was sent addressed to all the administrative secretaries of the government, department heads besides the Registrar General of the High Court. According to the notification, the Sukhwinder Singh government has decided to pay the arrears of the new pay commission under a formula.
This is how the arrears will be paid
- Employees and pensioners will be paid 4.5 percent of the total arrears in the upcoming financial year. 1.5 per cent of the total arrears of the revised pay scale will be paid in March and three per cent will be paid annually in the financial year 2024, which will be distributed at the rate of 0.25 per cent of the total arrears per month.
- It will be ensured that the amount of arrears does not exceed the limit prescribed for pay scale and DA arrears. Arrears will be given to pensioners every month along with salary and pension but 24.5 percent of the arrears of employees will be paid. If the arrears of pensioners exceed five If it is less than Rs 1000, it will be given at once.
- In the financial year 2024-25, the arrears of dearness allowance along with the salaries of regular government employees will be distributed at a monthly rate of 1.5 percent.

DA/DR of employees-pensioners also increased, salary-pension will increase in the account from May
- The state government has also issued a notification of 4% dearness allowance for employees and pensioners. Under this, more than 2 lakh employees and officers of the state, judicial service officers and teachers getting salary under the pay scales of University Grants Commission will now get the benefit of 38% DA.
- Employees will be given increased dearness allowance at the rate of 4% from April 1, 2024. Along with this, the outstanding arrears of 21 months from July 2022 till now will also be paid. This increased DA benefit will be available in the April salary received in May. The same is payable for pensioners and family pensioners from July 1, 2022. It will be given from April 1, 2024.
- Apart from this, dearness allowance will be given in the salary of April given in May. Now two installments of dearness allowance for employees and pensioners are left. This includes installments for January, 2023 and July, 2023.
- Under the order, dearness allowance will be paid in cash along with the salary of April, 2024 payable in May, 2024 and the arrears accrued from July 1, 2022 should be paid in the manner prescribed on this account by separate orders. Other terms and conditions contained in the official memorandum dated January, 2022 will continue to apply. This announcement will benefit 2.66 lakh employees across the state.
