4% DA Hike: Good News! Order issued to increase dearness allowance of state employees by 4%

4% DA Hike: After the Central Government, now the UP Government has also increased the dearness allowance of 12 lakh state employees and six lakh teachers. Apart from this, 12 lakh pensioners will also get the benefit. This order will be considered effective from January 1, 2024. Yogi government has issued an order to increase DA.

4% DA Hike: After the Central Government, the UP Government has also increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of its employees by 4%. After this increase, dearness allowance will be 50 percent. After the approval of the Chief Minister, the Finance Department on Tuesday issued the order to increase the dearness allowance. The increased dearness allowance will be given along with the salary for March. State employees and pensioners will get its benefits from January 1, 2024. This increase will put an additional burden of about Rs 350 crore on the government exchequer.

About 18 lakh employees will benefit from this decision of the UP government. These include 12 lakh state employees and about 6 lakh teachers. Apart from this, 12 lakh pensioners will also get 4% increased dearness relief. However, the order to give increased dearness allowance to pensioners has not been issued yet. This will also be released soon.

50 lakh employees across the country will benefit

It is noteworthy that the Central Government has given gifts to lakhs of central employees and pensioners before the general elections. In the cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, it was decided to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) of government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) of pensioners by 4 percent. This increase will be effective from January 1, 2024. Now dearness allowance will increase to 50 percent. The decision is expected to benefit about 50 lakh central government employees and 68 lakh pensioners. This increase in dearness allowance is according to the formula which is based on the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission.
