4 Simple Steps To Buy ICICI Bank FASTag On Google Pay

ICICI Bank has announced a partnership with Google Pay that will make users to purchase FASTag on the payment app through UPI. This will enable users to electronically order, monitor, and recharge ICICI Bank FASTag through the UPI using Google Pay. This proposal will ensure user protection as it will bring an end to directly visiting the retailers and heading to toll places to purchase a FASTag. ICICI Bank has become the first bank to affiliate with Google Pay for the issuance of FASTag through this partnership. It will also reinforce FASTag digital payments.

In order to facilitate the implementation of a contactless, convenient, and hassle-free transaction interface for travellers and to enable the use of FASTag, ICICI Bank has recently incorporated FASTag into the Mumbai toll places and parking zone at Hyderabad International Airport. In 2013, on the Mumbai – Vadodara route, ICICI bank was the first to introduce the FASTag service nationally. Digital tolling and other ancillary initiatives of the National Highway Authorities of India are carried out by FASTag. In order to make state and national highway toll payments completely electronic, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL), and the National Highway Authorities of India (NHAI) work together. In order to purchase FASTag from Google Pay, follow the below-mentioned steps:

  1. Open the Google Pay app on your mobile and tap on ‘ICICI Bank FASTag’ under ‘Businesses’.
  2. Now select ‘Buy new FASTag’ and enter your PAN, RC copy, vehicle number, and address.
  3. Now authenticate the OTP that will be sent to your registered mobile number and proceed further for the payment to be done.
  4. Once the transaction is successfully completed you will get a successful confirmation message on your device screen.

ICICI Bank customers can use FASTag via the bank’s digital banking platforms, including the iMobile app, online banking, the InstaBIZ app, the Pockets app, or by visiting the nearest bank branch. Using the UPI and NEFT websites of ICICI Bank, FASTag can be recharged with funds online. Users that are not ICICI Bank customers should use the Pockets app or visit www.icicibank.com/fastag to buy FASTag.

The NETC FASTag represents a significant step in introducing digital payment efficiencies into transportation and rendering interstate travel smooth. We are very glad to introduce forces with ICICI Bank to expand the NETC FASTag purchasing service through Google Pay to millions of users across India,” stated Mr. Sajith Sivanandan, Business Head of Google Pay.

Besides that, on December 24, Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari recently announced that FASTag will be made compulsory from January 1, 2021 for all vehicles across the country. He added that FASTag will bring benefits for drivers as they will not need to wait for cash payments at toll points, and it will save time and fuel as well.
