40 schools in Delhi received bomb threats, children were sent back

Delhi Bomb Threat Mail: 40 schools in Delhi received bomb threats early in the morning today. The threat was given through email, after which the schools were evacuated and the police was informed. Children have also been sent home. Delhi Police is investigating.

New Delhi: 40 schools in Delhi have again received bomb threats this morning. Delhi Public School located in RK Puram and GD Goenka Public School located in Paschim Vihar and other schools have received bomb threats through e-mail. The Delhi Fire Department was informed about this incident at around 7 am. After the threatening e-mail, the school administration has sent the students home, and the police has also been informed. Not two but 40 schools received bomb threats

Delhi Police said in its investigation that today more than 40 schools in Delhi have received bomb threats through e-mail. It is written in the e-mail that I have planted many bombs inside the school buildings. The bombs are small and are hidden very well. This will not cause much damage to the building, but many people will be injured if the bomb explodes. If I do not get 30,000 dollars, I will blast the bombs.

CM Atishi targeted the central government

This email came on the night of 8 December at around 11.38 pm. Several schools including Mother Mary School, British School, Salwan Public School and Cambridge School were targeted. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has criticised the central government’s handling of the situation, while former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to pay attention to the issue.

Same incident again after a month

This incident has happened after more than a month. Then many CRPF schools across the country, including two in Delhi and one in Hyderabad, had received bomb threats through e-mail. Delhi Police had said that on the night of October 21, a CRPF school in Tamil Nadu had received the first threat, after which an alert was issued to all affiliated schools across the country. However, the threat proved to be false.

There was a blast near a school in Rohini

On October 20, a powerful explosion ripped through the wall of a CRPF school in Delhi’s Rohini area, damaging nearby shops and vehicles and also creating a hole in the wall of the building, though there were no reports of casualties in the incident. A pro-Khalistani group claimed responsibility for the blast on Telegram, following which the Delhi Police contacted the social media app and sought information about the channel from where the post originated.
