- The official size of the original Rs 500 note is 66 mm x 150 mm.
- There will be a picture of Mahatma Gandhi in the middle.
- The denominational numeral 500 will be written in Devanagari.
- ‘Bharat’ and ‘India’ will be written in micro letters.
- The denominational numeral 500 will be marked.
- The image of 500 will be visible when the white space on the front side of the note is seen in the light.
- There will be a strip written ‘India’ and ‘RBI’. The color of the strip changes from green to blue when the note is tilted.
- The Guarantee Clause, the Promise Clause along with the Governor’s signature and the RBI emblem to the right of Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait.
- Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait and electrotype (500) will be watermarked.
