At present, there is a farmers’ movement going on in our country and many things are happening about the farmers. In the midst of all these incidents, this woman farmer of Beri village, situated between the border of Sikar and Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, is being discussed everywhere. The name of this woman is Santosh Devi Khedar.

This woman Santosh Devi of Rajasthan cultivates vermilion pomegranate on a quarter of an acre of land. Despite the unfavorable weather and geographical conditions for the cultivation of pomegranate, he has presented a sample of excellent cultivation. This woman earns up to 25 lakh rupees annually from pomegranate cultivation. His income also includes the amount of selling pomegranate fruits and saplings.

Santosh Devi has done her studies till 5th standard. Due to her great interest in farming, she got involved in farming and gardening from her childhood. Santosh Devi got married at the age of 15. Santosh Devi’s husband’s job was as a home guard, due to which he used to earn three thousand rupees per month.

During the year 2008, a woman farmer Santosh made a plan to cultivate pomegranate. To implement this decision, he sold his buffalo and got a tube well installed in the field with that money. When there was a lot of power problem, he connected it to the generator. Santosh Devi planted a total of 220 saplings of vermilion pomegranate. Irrigated all these pomegranate plants with drip irrigation system. After two years of hard work, these plants also started giving fruits in the year 2011.

Santosh’s luck shone from the year 2011 itself. He has also got the title of Agricultural Scientist. Agriculture Minister has given a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh to Santosh Devi. Impressed by this talent of Santosh Devi, 15 to 20 farmers come to his farm house to learn the tips of farming and farming.

In a year, Santosh Devi sells about 15,000 saplings of pomegranate, and only on selling these plants, she makes a profit of 10 to 15 lakh rupees. She herself prepares organic manure for the plants. She uses jaggery to make insecticide, so that the plants do not get pest.
