The official said that 410 new cases of infection have been reported in Mumbai. He said that a total of 1,100 new cases of infection were reported in the Greater Mumbai region while 86 patients died. 53 infected died in rural areas of Raigad district.
He told that 836 new cases were reported in Nashik division and 13 people died. 617 cases in the division are from Ahmednagar district only. The official said that 2,107 new cases were reported in Pune division and 70 patients died. A total of 62,58,079 people have been infected with the virus in Maharashtra so far, a total of 1,31,429 people have died while the number of patients under treatment is 93,479.
At the same time, 39 new cases of infection were reported in the neighboring state of Gujarat, but no patient died. An official said that out of the new cases, 10 cases are from Ahmedabad only. Seven new cases have been reported in Gujarat’s neighboring Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman Diu.
