7th Pay Commission: After the Centre, now states have also started increasing the dearness allowance i.e. DA of their employees. In this series, the Arunachal Pradesh government has announced a 4% increase in dearness allowance for state employees and dearness relief allowance for pensioners. With this, dearness allowance and dearness relief of government employees in the state will increase to 50%.
How many people will benefit?
This increase, effective from January 1, will benefit 68,818 state government employees and 33,200 pensioners. At the same time, the state will have to spend an additional Rs 124.20 crore per year for this.

Center also increased by 4 percent
Earlier, the Central Government announced a four percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) of its employees and Dearness Relief (DR) of pensioners. Under this, the basic salary/pension has been increased by 4 percent from the rate of 46 percent. Now the allowance of central employees has also increased to 50 percent. According to the government, the combined impact on the exchequer due to both dearness allowance and dearness relief will be Rs 12,868.72 crore per year. This will benefit about 49.18 lakh central government employees and 67.95 lakh pensioners.
