7th Pay Commission arrears news: Pending DA alert 26 June is CRUCIAL for Central government employees

7th Pay commission: In March 2018, the central government had reduced the deadline for TA claim on retirement from 1 year to 60 days. For a long time there was a demand that this timeline should be extended. That has now been decided.



Big news has come for central employees and pensioners. According to the notification issued by the government, the Central Government has extended the travel allowance (TA) claim submission deadline from 60 days to 180 days. It has been implemented from 15 June 2021. In March 2018, the central government had reduced the deadline for TA claim on retirement from 1 year to 60 days. For a long time there was a demand that this timeline should be extended.

According to the Finance Ministry, references were received from many departments regarding the extension of the TA deadline. 60 days was too short for retired central employees to submit allowances after retirement. Now it has been carried forward. Central employees retiring from this facility can file claims for 180 days i.e. 6 months after their travel. But the time limit for TA claim for tour, transfer and training will remain 60 days.

Experts say, this step of the government is very good and is in favor of the employees. Many times the employees have faced problems due to less time available. Taking this decision at such a time is a very positive step.

In the circular issued by the Ministry of Education, the limit of medical claim of NVS principals has been increased from 5000 to 25 thousand rupees. This allowance will be available at the time when the employees get treatment in any government hospital or any hospital designated by the central government. His entire family will also get the benefit of this. According to the circular, the existing limit of Rs 5,000 for NVS principal has now been increased to Rs 25,000 if treated in a government or CGHS recognized hospital.

On June 26, a meeting of the officials of the National Council of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and the Ministry of Finance of JCM is to be held. The agenda of the meeting is to pay DA arrears to central employees under 7th Pay Commission and DR to pensioners. The Central Government has lifted the ban on giving Dearness Allowance (DA) to its staff with effect from July 1, 2021. Now just waiting for the decisions to be taken in the meeting. From this it will be known how long the DA will be paid.
