11 lakh pensioners will benefit

In the late night decision, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that it will benefit 16.35 lakh state employees and 11 lakh pensioners. He said, in the interest of 16.35 lakh state employees and 11 lakh pensioners serving in the UP government From January 1, the government has decided to increase the rate of dearness allowance and dearness relief by 4 percent from 38 percent to 42 percent.

These states are giving 42% DA

After the latest amendment, the employees of UP will now get dearness allowance at the rate of 42%. Apart from this, there are also some states, which are giving DA up to 42%. In April, the Haryana government had increased the dearness allowance (DA) of state government employees drawing salary under the Seventh Pay Commission by four per cent, from 38 per cent to 42 per cent.

Apart from this, the Jharkhand government had also announced a hike in DA for its employees in April, which had gone up to 42 per cent. Its benefit will be added from January 1, 2023.

Tamil Nadu also increased DA

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has approved a four per cent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees. An official release said on Wednesday that the move would put an additional burden of Rs 2,366.82 crore on the exchequer annually. This decision of the government will benefit 16 lakh government employees, teachers, pensioners and family pensioners.

The release said that this increase will be applicable with retrospective effect from the beginning of the financial year, April 1, 2023. DA has been increased from 38 percent to 42 percent. It has been said in the release that when the central government will take such a step in the future, then the state government will also increase the DA accordingly.
