7th pay commission DA Hike: Central Government Employees may get great news by the end of February. Central government employees are currently getting Dearness Allowance (DA) at the rate of 46 percent. This time it is expected that the government can again increase the dearness allowance to 4 percent. If this happens then DA will increase to 50 percent.

DA may be 50 percent-

The amount of increase in dearness allowance depends on the data of AICPI. Employees have been expecting DA increase since the budget and the government will announce it soon. If the government increases the dearness allowance of the employees to 50 percent, then there may be a big increase in the salary and allowances of the employees. Currently, central employees are getting interest at the rate of 46 percent.

What happens when DA increases?

Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) of central government employees increases twice a year. If the government increases DA by 4 percent from January, then dearness allowance will increase from 46 percent to 50 percent. If the government takes such a decision, there will be a minimum direct increase of Rs 9000 in the salary of the employees.

What will happen to DA when it reaches 50 percent?

The rule of dearness allowance is that in the year 2016, when the government implemented the 7th Pay Commission, then dearness allowance was reduced to zero. According to the rules, as soon as the dearness allowance reaches 50 percent, it will be reduced to zero and the amount of allowance given to the employees at the rate of 50 percent will be added to the basic salary. If the basic salary of an employee is Rs 18000 then he will get Rs 9000 of 50% DA. But, when DA becomes 50 percent, it will be added to the basic salary and again dearness allowance will become zero.
