DA Hike: Apart from increasing DA, the government has announced that a guaranteed pension scheme will be brought in the state. Besides, the government is also reviewing the new pension system.
DA Hike: Kerala government has given great news to the state employees and pension holders. The state government has announced to increase the Dearness Allowance in the budget for the financial year 2024-25. State Finance Minister KN Balagopal announced the increase in DA while presenting the budget on Monday. He said that the increased DA will be given to government employees and pension holders in one installment in April, 2024. Finance Minister KN Balagopal said that the state government is also seriously considering the new pension system.
Guaranteed pension scheme will be launched
Presenting the state budget for the financial year 2024-25, Finance Minister Balagopal said that employees and pensioners had been demanding for a long time to increase DA (DA Hike). He said that a Guaranteed Pension Scheme will also be introduced for the employees. Also, the pension system currently running will be reviewed. However, he clarified that there will be no increase in Social Security Pension at present.

Stamp duty, building lease agreement and liquor prices increased
In the economic review report presented in the Kerala Assembly on February 2, it was said that the state’s GDP is growing strongly at the rate of 6.6 percent. The state government has also decided to increase the prices of stamp duty on land, building lease agreements and liquor in the budget. Besides, it has also been announced to give Rs 553.31 crore to social security schemes and welfare programs. Finance Minister Balagopal said that all efforts will be made to increase investment in higher education. Also, approximately Rs 50 crore will be spent on the development of 20 tourist places.
DA increased in these states in December itself
According to the information, last year West Bengal, Meghalaya and Punjab had announced increase in DA. Punjab had announced increase in DA for state employees and pensioners on December 18, Meghalaya on December 20 and West Bengal on December 21. Now after Kerala, similar decisions are expected from some other states also.
