7th Pay Commission: After the increase in DA by the Yogi government, the dearness allowance of the employees has increased from 46 percent to 50 percent. Lakhs of employees and pensioners will benefit from this.
Dearness Allowance Hike: After the Central Government, the Yogi Government of Uttar Pradesh has also given good news to lakhs of employees and pensioners of the state. Before the Lok Sabha elections, the government has approved increasing DA by four percent for state employees and pensioners. The increase in dearness allowance will be implemented from January 1, 2024. Due to increase in DA, the salary of about 10 lakh state employees and eight lakh teachers will increase. Apart from this, the dearness relief allowance of 12 lakh pensioners has also been increased by four percent.
Benefit will be available from January 1
After the state government approves the DA hike, it will be implemented from January 1. After this increase, the dearness allowance given to employees and pensioners has increased to 50 percent. At present employees get 46 percent dearness allowance of basic salary. This decision of the government will put an additional burden of about Rs 314 crore on the state treasury. This announcement can benefit the government before the Lok Sabha elections.
Currently 46 percent DA and DR
In the coming days, announcements regarding DA hike can be made by more state governments. At present, UP government employees and pensioners get DA/DR at the rate of 46 percent. State employees are expected to be paid DA at the increased rate in April. Apart from this, arrears for January and February will also be paid to the employees. Earlier in the Modi Cabinet meeting, it was decided to increase the DA of central employees and pensioners.
