Delhi: Central employees are eagerly awaiting the announcement of increase in DA. As the days are advancing, so are the eyes of the government. Especially since the budget, every day has been cut hard because all India Consumer Price Index has been announced and now it is announced to increase DA.
News of the benefits of government employees
The economic condition of the country had deteriorated during the Corona period, but now it is slowly returning to track. Business has also started. So the government is hopeful that the government will take a decision in the interest of the central employees soon as the news of increase in DA will create a wave of happiness among about 50 lakh central employees and 65 lakh pensioners. The government had said that according to the 17 per cent which is already being calculated, the central employees will continue to get DA till 2021. But now there is hope of increasing it and there is a possibility that soon the union employees can be happy.
What is DA’s formula
The central government revises it every 6 months. Its calculation is in percentage by considering Basic Pay as base. This increase will be based on the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission. Right now employees and pensioners are getting separate DA. If the government announces increase in DA, then the central employees will be benefited. At present, central employees get DA of 17 per cent but if it is increased by 4 per cent, then it can reach 21 per cent. Hopefully, given the troubles and difficulties faced in the Corona period, the government can announce it soon. From January to June 2021, the government has to wait for the announcement of DA on which everyone’s eyes are fixed.

Salary can be increased from June
Central employees and pensioners can get salary and pension increased after June this year. Due to the Corona crisis, in the last March, the government had decided to give dearness allowance (DA) at the old rate which is applicable till June 2021. In such a situation, it is hoped that the government can take a relief decision on DA.
Finance Ministry has announced
The Finance Ministry has already said that the allowance will be announced keeping in mind the basic salary or pension of central employees. The expenditure of DA and DR (Dearness Relief) is Rs 12,510 crore annually but after the increase it is estimated to reach 14,595 crore. All India Consumer Price Index has been announced. Now the wait is increasing in DA.
