7th Pay Commission: Following the footsteps of the central government, Ashok Gehlot’s Rajasthan government on Wednesday approved to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) of state government employees and pensioners from 17 per cent to 28 per cent. According to the decision of the state government, the increased rate of DA will be applicable from July 1, 2021. The decision to increase DA will cost the state exchequer Rs 4,000 crore every year.
“We have decided to increase the dearness allowance of Rajasthan government employees and pensioners from 17 per cent to 28 per cent. This rate of dearness allowance will be applicable from July 1, 2021. The state government will spend its annual expenditure of Rs 4,000 crore to provide assistance to the employees despite the difficult circumstances due to Covid-19,” Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said.

Let us tell you, this decision of the Rajasthan government has come after the central government increased the dearness allowance and dearness relief benefits to central employees and pensioners from 17 percent to 28 percent.
Significantly, this will be a big relief for lakhs of central government employees and pensioners, who were affected by the Centre’s decision to stop the hike due to the Kovid-19 epidemic last year.
