A question has been asked to the government in the Rajya Sabha regarding the formation of the Eighth Pay Commission. The Finance Ministry has given the answer to this. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary has given a written answer in the Rajya Sabha.

7th Pay Commission: Employees working under the central government are eagerly waiting for the formation of the 8th Pay Commission. Actually, 10 years have passed since the formation of the 7th Pay Commission and usually a new pay commission is formed by the government every ten years, after which the salary and dearness allowance (DA) of the employees increases. In such a situation, the central employees hope that the government should take a decision on this as soon as possible. At the same time, experts believe that the Finance Ministry can take a decision on this in the Union Budget 2025. However, no official information has been shared yet.

Actually, the 7th Pay Commission was prepared on 28 February 2014 in the Manmohan Singh government and was headed by Justice Ashok Kumar Mathur. The purpose of the 7th Pay Commission was to review the salary of all central employees. Now 10 years have passed since its formation. In such a situation, the central employees are eagerly waiting for the formation of the 8th Pay Commission.

Central Government 8th Pay Commission

The Seventh Pay Commission constituted in February 2014 was approved by the Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The 7th Pay Commission came into effect from 1 January 2016 and the changes made in it were implemented from 1 July 2016. Now, a little information has come to light about whether the government is working on forming a committee for the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission.

Question asked to the government in Parliament

In February 2014, the 7th Pay Commission was given a green signal under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it came into effect from 1 January 2016, while the changes in the salary structure of employees came into effect from 1 July 2016. Now a question has been asked to the government in the Rajya Sabha regarding the formation of the 8th Pay Commission. The answer to which has been given by the Finance Ministry. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said that at present no consideration is being given to the formation of the 8th Pay Commission.
