7th pay commission: Today a very important meeting was held regarding the Dearness Allowance i.e. DA and Dearness Relief i.e. DR. In this meeting, there was discussion regarding increasing dearness allowance and payment of arrears. No information has been revealed so far about what decision has been taken in the meeting, but a letter signed by Finance Secretary TV Somanathan is going viral on social media.
It has been written in this letter that the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief, which has been frozen at present due to the Corona epidemic, is being implemented again from 1 July 2021. In the second line, it is written that the arrears made due to freezing of allowances of central employees and pensioners in the last one and a half years will also be paid. The government will pay it in three instalments.

Important meeting of CGS and JCM today
An important meeting of the Central Government Servant (CGS) Representative and the body of the National Council of JCM was held today regarding the Dearness Allowance. Officials of DoPT and Finance Ministry also attended this meeting. Let us inform that Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur has said in writing in Rajya Sabha that central employees and pensioners will get the benefit of full DA and DR from July 1, 2021.
There is talk of increasing the allowance by 11 percent
He had also said that this benefit will be available on a joint basis. DA and DR of 52 lakh central employees and 60 lakh pensioners are frozen since January 2020. Anurag Thakur had said that from July 1, dearness allowance will be increased from 17 per cent to 28 per cent. This includes 3 per cent dearness allowance for January-June 2020, 4 per cent allowance for July-December 2020 and 4 per cent allowance for January-June 2021, which together amounts to 11 per cent.
