8th Pay Commission: The central government has approved the 8th Pay Commission. The Pay Commission will be implemented from January 2026, which the central employees and unions had been demanding for a long time. Let us know how much the salary will increase in the 8th Pay Commission and what is its calculation.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave information about this on January 16. Central employees and organizations have been demanding the implementation of fitment factor of 2.56 to 2.86 in the 8th Pay Commission for a long time. If the recommendations regarding 2.86 fitment factor in the 8th Pay Commission are accepted, then the minimum salary of the employees will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 51480. Let us understand the level wise salary calculator.

Salary of Level 1 employee

At present, the 7th Pay Commission is applicable in the country, under which the central employees of Level 1 get a minimum salary of Rs 18,000. At the same time, if the 8th Pay Commission is implemented, then their salary will be Rs 51,480 according to the fitment of 2.86.

Salary calculation formula

New salary = Current salary (according to 7th Pay Commission) x Fitment factor

According to this formula, we can calculate the salary. For example, if the current salary of a level 1 employee is Rs 18,000, then by making it 18000 X 2.86, his salary will become Rs 51,480 per month.

Salary of level 2 employee

At present, the minimum salary of a level 2 employee is Rs 19,900, which will increase to Rs 19,900X2.86= Rs 56,914 after the 8th Pay Commission.

If the 8th Pay Commission is implemented with a fitment factor of 2.86, then the salary of level 17 and level 18 employees among central employees will also increase. Let us also know the calculation of their salary

Salary of level 17 employees

According to the 7th Pay Commission, the basic salary of level 17 central employees is Rs 2,25,000, which will increase to Rs 6,43,500. At the same time, the basic salary of level 18 employees will increase to Rs 715,000.
