Train ran in reverse between Khatima-Tanakpur
Passenger train overturned due to technical fault
Let me tell you, after the video came out, now the loco pilot and guard of the train has been suspended. On behalf of the Railways, it has been said that, the Northeast Railway said that the train did not derail and the passengers were safely taken to Tanakpur. We have suspended the loco pilot and the guard.
On the other hand, Rajendra Singh, who is a public relations officer of North East Railway Division, Izatnagar, Bareilly, told that on Wednesday evening while going to Tanakpur, a cow was hit by a Purnagiri Jan Shatabdi train near the home signal in Tanakpur. The train was stopped due to the accident but due to a sudden slope it started moving towards Pilibhit and the pilots’ attempts to stop the train went in vain.
The brake failed due to leakage in the pressure pipe, which made the pilots helpless to stop it and spread panic among the passengers.
After the loco-pilots lost control of the Jan Shatabdi train, the railway crossing was closed to avoid any lapse on the track. Train officials crossed the Banbasa and Chakarpur railway stations around 5 pm. At the same time, railway officials stopped this train near Goshikuan village near Khatima in US Nagar district.
The official revealed that the Jan Shatabdi train was stopped by putting soil and aggregates on the railway track between Banbasa and Khatima. All passengers were safe and were sent by roadways buses to Tanakpur. Railway officials are fixing the fault and the train was sent to Tanakpur. According to the official, a committee of three senior officials has also been formed to find out the reason behind the incident. Action will also be taken against those found responsible.
