To curb the corona virus in Gorakhpur district of UP, the district administration has decided to impose a night curfew. Gorakhpur is the home district of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, night curfew has already been imposed in many districts including the capital Lucknow. Gorakhpur District Magistrate Vijayendra Pandian said on Saturday that curfew will remain in the district between 9 am and 6 am. It will start from 11 April night and will run till 18 April.
The curfew will be exempted from working for the Government of India and state government officials, employees and people connected with essential services and public welfare services. But he has been requested to carry his identity card with him at all times. A police officer informed that curfew has been imposed in Banda city also from 9 am to 6 am on Saturday night.

Inspector-in-charge (SHO) of the city Kotwali, Jaishyam Shukla said that curfew has been imposed from 9 am to 6 am on Saturday night in view of the ever increasing infection of the corona virus. After rising daily cases of corona in Ballia and more than 500 under-trial cases, District Magistrate Aditi Singh has imposed curfew in the district from 9 am to 6 am to prevent infection.
Earlier on Friday, night curfew was implemented in Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Bareilly and Sahanarpur. At the same time, the night curfew in Varanasi, Lucknow, Kanpur and Prayagraj was announced on Wednesday itself. On behalf of the Yogi government, it was said that in places where the corona cases are more than 500, the District Magistrate can take a decision on the night curfew.
