New Delhi. Vehicle owners living in Noida in Uttar Pradesh should be careful. The last date for installation of High Security Number Plate (HSRP) is to end on 15 April tomorrow. The state government has tightened its back on mandatory HSRP. Vehicle owners in Gautam Budh Nagar district are not showing much awareness about HSRP. Hence the district administration has announced a challan of Rs 5000 for vehicles without HSRP after 15 April.
By the first week of February, only 21 percent of the total vehicles in Gautam Budh Nagar had a high security number plate. There are 7.5 lakh vehicles registered in Gautam Budh Nagar, out of which only 1.60 lakh vehicles have installed high security number plates.
Transport officer of Gautam Budh Nagar told that the government has declared the last date for April 15, 2021 in the district for getting a high security number plate. After this, strict action will be taken against those vehicle owners who do not have a high security number plate. To get HSRP, vehicle owners have to make online booking. New vehicles are coming with the dealer-fitted high security number plate.
AK Pandey, RTO Administration Officer of Gautam Budh Nagar district said that the government has ordered that every vehicle owner is required to have a high security number plate in their vehicles on or before April 15. After April 15, vehicles which do not have a high security number plate, will have to fill an invoice of Rs 5000.
What is HSRP?
The HSRP is a hologram sticker, which records the engine and chassis numbers of the vehicle and is affixed to the vehicle’s number plate. The high security number plate is designed for the safety and convenience of the vehicle. This number plate is made of aluminum and is specially fitted in the vehicle. Once the number plate is installed, it will not be possible to remove it easily by anyone.
