The Ministry of Labor has asked the states to issue rules related to social security soon. The Union Labor Ministry has fixed the deadline for all states to finalize the rules related to labor codes in the next two months. If put in easy words, the new labor laws can be implemented in the next 2 months. Notification of all four labor codes will be issued simultaneously by the central government.

What is going to happen now?

According to the media report, the central government has asked to implement the new labor laws soon. If the Social Security Code is implemented then the laborers will get the benefit of construction cess. Workers coming from any state will have to register only at one place.

Apart from this, laborers will get cheap houses to live. Universal health card will be available. So that they can be given the benefit of insurance cover. Labor Ministry has written a letter to all the states about this. The ministry has asked the states to implement the rules of the Social Security Code as soon as possible.




Apart from this, the Labor Burers have also been instructed that the survey related to migrant laborers should be completed in 1.5 months instead of 7 months.

Social Security Bill

In the new provisions of the Social Security Code 2020, it has been said that people who will get jobs on fixed term basis. They will also have the right to get gratuity on the same day basis. Under Social Security, all the 9 laws related to social security and maternity benefit have been included in one.

Those working on contract basis will get the benefit of gratuity along with their salary. How long is the contract.

If the employee fulfills certain conditions of the job, gratuity will be paid to him under a prescribed formula in a guaranteed manner.

The small portion of gratuity is deducted from the salary of the employee, but the major portion is paid by the company. According to the current system, if a person works in a company for at least 5 years, then he is entitled to gratuity.

What is Gratuity – In addition to salary, pension and provident fund, gratuity is also given to employees working in the same company for a long time. Gratuity is the reward received by an employee from the company.

Under the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972-Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972, it benefits every employee of an institution where more than 10 employees work.

If the employee changes the job, retires or leaves the job due to any reason but he meets the rules of gratuity, he gets the benefit of gratuity.
