The Government of India has planned to give home to the homeless by 2022. Under the scheme, the government provides homes to the homeless and at the same time, they get subsidy to those who buy houses or flats on loan. Here we are telling you which people and how you can take advantage of this scheme.
Know how to apply in PMAY:
To apply under the PM Awas Yojana Gramin, the government has created a mobile-based housing app. It can be downloaded from Google’s Play Store. After downloading, you will have to create a login ID in it with the help of a mobile number.
1.After this the app will send a one-time password to your mobile number.
2. After login with this help, fill the required information.
3. After applying to get a house under PMAYG, the central government elects the beneficiaries.
4. After this, the final list of the beneficiaries is put on the PMAYG website.
Who gets the benefit of the scheme
The benefit of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) was earlier only for the poor. But now, by increasing the amount of home loan, the poor and middle class of urban areas have also been brought under its purview. Initially, the amount of home loan in PMAY ranged from 3 to 6 lakh rupees, on which interest subsidy was given, now it has been reduced to 18 lakh rupees.
The annual household income for EWS (lower economic class) is fixed at Rs 3 lakh. The annual income for LIG (low income group) should be between 3 lakh to 6 lakh. Now people with annual income up to Rs 12 and 18 lakhs can also take advantage of this.

Government of India started the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the year 2015. The plan is divided into 3 phases. The first phase of the scheme started in June 2015, which ended in March 2017. The second phase started in April 2017 and ended in March 2019. The third and last phase was started in April 2019 and will end by March 2022.
