And there are many times when we forget our password. However, to reset your password, it is not necessary to visit the nearest SBI bank. You can reset your password very easily.
If you have forgotten your profile password, you can reset the same yourself. You need to authenticate yourself with the hint question and answer that you had set for the Profile password or through ATM Debit card validation. If you don’t remember the hint question or answer, and you don’t have an ATM debit card, you can approach your branch to reset the password.

How to reset Profile Password: Using Hint question
- Visit www.onlinesbi.com and log in to your account.
- Now click on Profile and then click on Forgot Profile Password.
- Then select the option to use Hint Question Answer.
- A new page will appear on your screen. Now select the hint question, which you had set when you created your profile password for the first time.
- Enter the answer to the hint question and click on Submit. The Set Profile Password page appears and allows you to define a new profile password.
- Now enter a new profile password and ensure that your password is a combination of letters in upper and lower case, digits, and special characters/ images, so that it is difficult to crack.
- Reenter the same to confirm the password. Select a hint question and enter the answer for the same and click on Submit.
- Your new profile password is registered on the system as indicated by the Confirmation page that appears.
How to reset the profile password through ATM Debit Card:
- Visit www.onlinesbi.com and log in to your account.
- Now click on Profile and then click on Forgot Profile Password. A Forgot Profile Password Page appears and displays the below options to reset the Profile password.
- Then select the option Approval through ATM Debit Card.
- You will receive a one-time password (OTP) on your Registered mobile number for second-factor authentication.
- Select the account number and click on Proceed. The system will redirect you to the ATM card validation page and display Active and Other Cards.
- Then select the Active card and Confirm.
- On this page, enter the Debit card details and Click on Proceed. On successful validation, you have to re-login to reset the profile password.
- On successful re-login, the Set Profile Password page appears and allows you to define a new profile password.
- Now enter a new profile password. Ensure that your password is a combination of letters in upper and lower case, digits, and special characters/ images so that it is difficult to crack.
- Reenter the same to confirm the password. Select a hint question and enter the answer for the same and click on Submit.
- Your new profile password is registered on the system as indicated by the Confirmation page that appears.
