Rohit Sharma’s new international record between IPL 2021, Bangladeshi captain’s century is amazing

The first match of the Test series is being played between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in Kandy, in which the Bangladeshi captain scored his 11th century.

On the second day of the first test match being played in Kandy between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka (Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh), the visiting team strengthened their position in the first innings. With the help of Najmul Hussain Shanto (163) and captain Mominul Haque (127), Bangladesh have scored 474 runs losing 4 wickets. This is Shanto’s first century in Test cricket, while Mominul Haque’s 11th. Both centuries are very special for these batsmen, but the record of Mominul Haq’s century ended a record and this record has now become the name of Indian team’s legendary opener Rohit Sharma. Rohit is currently busy in IPL 2021, but still an international record came to his account. This record is to score all the centuries in Test career only on domestic ground.

The Bangladeshi team, under the leadership of Mominul Haq, is on a tour of Sri Lanka for the Test series. Here the test series has started between the two teams in Kandy. On the first two days of the series, the Bangladeshi team batted and set a big score in the first innings. Shanto and Mominul Haque’s century played an important role in this. There was a tremendous partnership of 242 runs for the third wicket between Mominul and Shanto.

Highest Test century without a century abroad
In this partnership, both batsmen completed their centuries. This was Mominul Haq’s 11th Test century, but for the first time he scored a century outside Bangladesh. In this way, after scoring 10 consecutive centuries in the house, he finally got his first century on foreign land. With this, a record has also been removed from his name.

The record of hitting the highest century in a single Test century in foreign countries has now become the name of Indian veteran Rohit Sharma. Rohit has so far scored 7 centuries in 38 matches, but all these centuries have come only on Indian soil. His last century came in the Chennai Test against England.

Bangladesh in strong position
On the other hand, if we talk about the match, Bangladesh made a good comeback after a poor start on the first day. The team had lost the wicket of opener Saif Hasan (0) for just 8 runs. But after this, senior opener Tamim Iqbal (90) shared a 144-run partnership with Shanto. After this, the partnership of Shanto and Mominul Haq strengthened Bangladesh and put Sri Lanka in trouble. Vishwa Fernando has taken the maximum 2 wickets for Sri Lanka.
