Karnataka: Metro Rail services to be closed on weekend curfew, BMTC decided

Interstate buses and freight vehicles have not been banned in Karnataka. At the same time, it has been decided to stop the metro rail services with weekend curfew.




In view of the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMTC) in the state of Karnataka, metro rail services will be closed on Saturday and Sunday. In view of the increasing cases of corona in Karnataka, the weekend curfew has been imposed along with the earlier night curfew so that people can move out of the house less in the weekend and avoid going into any kind of crowd. The state government has issued new guidelines. Night curfew will remain in the state from 9 am to 4 pm on April 21. In addition, the weekend curfew will remain in force from 9 am Friday to 6 am Monday.

Educational institutions, coaching centers, malls, cinema halls, stadiums, sports complexes, gyms, swimming pools, rallies, dharna demonstrations have been banned in the state. However, without the spectators, there will be an exemption for conducting games in the stadium. At the same time, only parcel service is allowed from the restaurant. Restrictions on food sitting inside. All religious places will be closed for devotees. However, people living in temples can perform religious activities. No one will be allowed to go to the religious place from outside.

Interstate buses not banned

Interstate buses and freight vehicles have not been banned in Karnataka. However, to reduce congestion in buses, the government has ordered government and private transport companies to keep 50 percent seats empty. Earlier, in the metro too, only 50 percent passengers were being taken from the capacity. But now it has been decided to stop the metro rail services with weekend curfew.

At the same time, metro service will remain operational during the weekend lockdown in Delhi. However, the frequency of the metro has been changed. Delhi Metro said that in view of the curfew imposed by the government on April 17 and 18, metro services will be available on all lines in a gap of 15 minutes. At the same time, passengers may have to wait for 30 minutes in Noida-Vaishali of Blue Line and Indralok-Kirti Nagar section of Green Line.
