According to RN Parashar, General Secretary of the Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers, RN Parashar said, “If the government worker is killed on duty from Corona, his family should be given twenty lakhs of rupees.” Also, one of his family members should get a job.
Corona is wreaking havoc, the condition of hospitals is not good. In such a situation, if there is a Kovid infection, there will not be a place in the hospital. Except for a few offices of central government ministries and directorate level, the roster system has not been implemented for employees in other departments. All workers have to come to the office.
The Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers, in its letter to the Cabinet Secretary on April 22, mentioned the above things. Most government employees are not exempt from work from home. If a corona gets infected while on a government duty, it does not get priority for hospitalization. If a worker wants to undergo treatment in a hospital or is in isolation at home, his absence is imposed.
According to RN Parashar, general secretary of the Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers, the second wave of Corona is very dangerous. More than three lakh positive cases have been reported. The new form of Corona is also catching young people. There is a shortage of beds, ICU beds, oxygen and ventilators etc. in the country’s hospitals.
In such a situation, in most of the central government offices, except for ministries and directorates, personnel are being called in full numbers. Despite following the guidelines issued by the government, many workers are getting corona infected. At present, hospitals located in all parts of the country are in a bad condition. The beds are not empty because of corona patients.
Cabinet Secretary has been requested to issue necessary instructions to the Secretaries and HODs of all departments regarding personnel safety. For personnel, a roster duty system of 50% and 30% should be implemented. If a worker becomes infected with the corona, he or she will have priority for hospitalization.
The government should fully pay for the treatment of Kovid. Treatment should be started in private hospitals at CGHS rate. Workers who are in hospital or in home isolation, consider them on duty. Special leave of personnel should be approved. If an employee resides in an area with lockdown or curfew, he is to be considered on duty.
General Secretary RN Parashar said, if the government worker is killed on duty from Corona, then his family should be given twenty lakh rupees. Also, one of his family members should get a job. Corona rescue equipment such as sanitizing machines, sanitizers, masks, gloves and PPE kits should be provided in central offices.
The first wave of Corona was stoutly faced by government personnel. Now in the second wave too, they are working shoulder to shoulder with the government. In such a situation, it is the duty of the government to take care of the safety of its personnel.
