New Delhi: Dearness Allowance, DA of 8.5 lakh employees of PSU Bank has been released. This DA is for May, June and July 2021. This time there has been a decrease of 7 Slab. The Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) has announced this after the AIACPI (All India Average Consumer Price Index) data came out. On the other hand, more than 52 lakh central employees receiving 7th Central Pay Commission are also waiting to increase their DA this year. Their DA freeze is going on.
According to the order of the IBA, the AIACPI average for January, February and March for the industrial worker is 7818.51. This makes DA Slab 367 7 (7818.51 – 6352 = 1466.51 / 4 = 367 Slabs). DA was 374 Slabs for February, March and April. This has led to a decrease of 7 Slabs. Therefore, this time DA calculates 25.69% of Basic Pay.
DA was increased last time
Let us tell you that the last time the All India Average Consumer Price Index rose to 7855.76 in October 2020. Later a further increase was recorded. In November and December it was 7882.06 and 7809.74 respectively.

Increased salary during the epidemic
The order to increase the salary of 8.5 lakh bankers came during the Covid 19 pandemic. There was an agreement between the Bank Employees Union and the IBA for a 15% annual increase in salary. The agreement brought an additional burden of Rs 7,900 crore on banks.
Salary hike effective from november 2017
According to the agreement between the bank unions and the IBA, this salary increase has come into effect from November 2017. That is, the bankers also got about 30 months of Arrear. The annual 15 percent increase in salaries and allowances will be based on the pay bill of 31 March 2017.
