Himachal Pradesh government has notified the rules of Swarna Jayanti Nari Sambal Yojana announced for women in the budget. Under the rules, women paying income tax payers and pensioners will be ineligible for the scheme. Even if husband is paying tax or taking pension, women will be considered ineligible. Under the scheme, the state government will give Rs 1000-1000 per month to women aged 65 to 69 years. Due to non-determination of eligibility, there was a demand from the government not to give benefits of this scheme to all women between 65 and 69 years of age. Recently, the government had announced to revise the scheme. In this episode, the rules of the scheme have been notified on Monday. It has been clarified in the notification that the old couple or the income tax payer aged couple taking government service pension will not be eligible to receive old age pension without any income limit condition.
The benefit of old age pension will be available only to those senior citizens, in which neither of the couple is getting government service pension or there is no income tax payer. It has been clarified in the orders that in order to get the benefit of social security pension scheme to the needy, this eligibility has been fixed in sub-rule five under rule six of the scheme. Under the Swarna Jayanti Nari Sambal Yojana, pension is to be given to all eligible women between 65 and 69 years of age. The government will give them 1000-1000 rupees per month without any income limit condition.
