According to Smymet, a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the Bay of Siam and adjoining Myanmar and Northeast Bay of Bengal on June 9. It will shift near the coast of Myanmar and Bangladesh on June 10. A low pressure area is very likely to form over the Bay of Bengal on the same day or in the next 24 hours. It will strengthen into a depression on June 11 and will also move close to the coast of Odisha and West Bengal. This first system will trigger active monsoon conditions over large parts of the country.

According to the weather agency, Monsoon will advance over West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh from the scheduled date. Heavy rain will start in the coastal parts on June 10 and its range will increase in these states between June 11 and 15. In addition, Monsoon from the west will move over the Arabian Sea and during this period, heavy rains are likely over the entire west coast from Kerala to Konkan and South Gujarat.
