Many faces have left the Congress since the last assembly elections. Among them the latest name is of Jitin Prasad and this is not the last name. The ongoing stir within the party is telling that many faces may switch sides before the elections. Jitin was a part of G-23 and was sidelined after writing a letter to the top leadership. Raj Babbar and RPN Singh were also part of G-23 and these three leaders were not given any responsibility in the committees formed last year. The indication is clear that if the leadership marginalizes them, they will not hesitate to leave the party.
Need to brainstorm in the party
Congress is fighting a case in the High Court to end the membership of rebel Congress MLA Aditi Singh from Rae Bareli and Rakesh Singh of Harchandpur. Adit Singh says that yes, I am still a Congress MLA, but in the last three-four years many people left the Congress and left. Jitin was a big face of Congress. He is a leader of youth and clean image. His passing is a big loss for the Congress. People are not being heard in the party. The advisors of the top leadership are not able to convey the words of the party people to them. The party needs a lot of brainstorming.
