Big news: Government announces new e-vehicle policy, will get subsidy of 10 lakhs for setting up charging stations

Electrification is happening rapidly in the automobile sector all over the world. This is a proper step to prevent environmental pollution.

Gujarat government has announced its new e-vehicle policy. It has been told in this policy that a subsidy of Rs 10 lakh will be available for setting up a charging station. With the aim of making Gujarat a pollution-free state, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Tuesday 22 June announced the implementation of Electrical Vehicle Policy in the state. The Chief Minister said that the vehicle policy will remain in force for the next four years. So far, a total of 250 charging stations have been approved in Gujarat.

The state government is planning to set up 250 more charging stations here in the next one year. As per the policy envisaged by the Chief Minister of Gujarat, work will also be done for manufacturing of electric vehicles. The electric segment will mainly focus on e-bikes, rickshaws and automobiles, two wheelers, three wheelers and four wheelers.

Something like this is the new e-vehicle policy
Under Gujarat’s new E-Vehicle Policy, subsidy up to Rs 20,000 will be available on 2-wheeler EVs. At the same time, a subsidy of up to Rs 50,000 will be available on 3-wheeler EVs. While a 4-wheeler EV will get a subsidy of up to Rs 1.5 lakh. Under the new electrical vehicle policy, the state government plans to cut the carbon dioxide (CO2) level in the atmosphere by about 6 million tonnes.

The government will also set up 500 charging stations across the state and give subsidy on them too. A subsidy of up to Rs 10 lakh will be given on the construction of such charging facilities. Rupani said that so far 250 charging stations have been approved. The subsidy will be given on per kg and per kW basis.

In the first phase, 1.5 lakh e-scooters, 70,000 rickshaws and 25,000 cars will ply on the roads in various cities of the state. It is learned that Gujarat has made this policy better than other states. The state chief minister said electrification of public transport could also be considered in future, adding that local people would be free to buy vehicles of their choice as per their suitability.
