You can install DigiLocker or mParivahan app on your phone and save the soft copy of driving license in it. These apps are very useful when you forget your physical driving license at home or your documents are lost or stolen. In such a situation, you can avoid challan by showing the driving license from the smartphone as well.
This is how to create an account on DigiLocker
1. First of all go to digitallocker.gov.in website. But first of all make sure that your phone number is registered with Aadhaar or not. If the phone is not registered then you will not be able to use it.
2. After this click on Sign Up and enter your name, birth date, registered mobile number along with email id, password. You will have to create the password yourself.
3. After this enter the 12 digit Aadhaar number. As soon as you enter the Aadhaar number, you will get 2 options. OTP and Fingerprint. You can use any of these.
4. As soon as this process is completed, you will be asked to create a username and password, with the help of which you will be able to log in to DigiLocker.
Process of uploading documents in DigiLocker
- After logging in to DigiLocker, two sections will appear in your personal account.
- In the first section, certificates issued by different agencies, their URL (link), date of issue and sharing option will be found.
- At the same time, in the second section, there will be the certificates uploaded by you, their brief description and the option of share and e-sign.
- Select the appropriate option from the given options to upload the document.
- If you want to upload certificate then click on My Certificate. After that click on upload document and select your certificate.
- After that fill the requested information. In this way you can upload all your documents in Digital Locker.
How to download mParivahaan App
1. Go to Google Play Store on Android phone and Apple App Store on iPhone.
2. Search the app by the name ‘mParivahaan’ here.
3. After clicking on the app, tap on Install.
How to Download Virtual RC on the App
- Open ‘mParivahaan’ App.
- Tap on the three lines at the top right corner.
- Here tap on Sign in option and enter your mobile number and SMS verification code.
- Now go to the homescreen of the app and tap on RC.
- Enter the vehicle number in the search field and search.
- The app will automatically fetch the data related to the registration number.
- Now you can add RC by tapping on ‘Add to dashboard’.
