To send money from SBI to the post office savings account, that too through internet banking, know what to do

If you want to transfer money from any other bank to the post office savings account, that too through internet or mobile app, then the method is different. For this, the customer has to open an IPPB IPPB account in the post office.

It is necessary to open IPPB account

For this, the customer has to open an IPPB IPPB account in the post office. This account is mobile based. It can be run with the help of app. One can easily do banking transactions through IPPB.

Earlier the customer had to go to the post office for depositing money, checking balance, transferring money and other financial transactions. Similarly, to deposit money in accounts like Recurring Deposit RD, Public Provident Fund PPF, Sukanya Samriddhi also had to go to the post office. Now IPPB works for money transfer to deposit etc. This work can be done through internet banking or mobile banking.

How to transfer money

  • If your account is in State Bank, then add some money from it to IPPB account.Now go to DOP service of IPPB
  • Here you can select different product RD, PPF, Sukanya Samriddhi, Loan Against RD
  • If you want to transfer money to PPF account, then choose the option of PPF
  • On pressing the button, money will be transferred to the PPF account and you will also get the message on the mobile.

Now if you want to send money from any other bank like SBI to the post office savings account, then for this also you have to first send money to the IPPB account. This work can be done through the mobile app. This app has to be downloaded in mobile. This will happen only when the IPPB account is opened in the post office. There is a different method for new customers and old customers on IPPB. If you want to become a new customer of IPPB, then for that you have to visit the post office branch once. Here you have to do basic registration. A digital account is opened after the paperwork is completed. After this you will be able to do all kinds of online transactions.

What to do if you are already an IPPB customer

  • Account number, customer ID i.e. CIF and date of birth will have to be entered in IPPB’s mobile app
  • This will happen only if your mobile number is linked with the post office savings account
    After giving all the information in IPPB, an OTP will be received on the registered mobile number.
  • Based on this, you can set the M-PIN of the mobile app.
  • Now enter the OTP in the mobile app. IPPB account is now ready for transaction
