IGNOU PG Courses: IGNOU has launched 2 new postgraduate courses, know about them

Indira Gandhi National Open University has launched Master of Science (Information Security) and Master of Arts (Entrepreneurship) courses.




Indira Gandhi National Open University has started two postgraduate programs, these include Master of Science (Information Security) and Master of Arts (Entrepreneurship). Both the PG programs were started by the School of Vocational Education and Training on July 15, 2021, on the occasion of ‘World Youth Skills Day’ declared by the United Nations. Students can register for these PG programs till July 31 at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

The PG programs were virtually started by Professor Nageswara Rao, Vice Chancellor IGNOU. The virtual launch included Arun Sahdev, Country Coordinator (UNV), UNDP’s external expert; Professor Sanjay Sehgal, Dean Department of Financial Studies, University of Delhi; Dr JS Juneja, an entrepreneurship expert, and Professor Sushila Madan an information security expert were also present at the launch.

According to the statement of IGNOU, the objective of MA Entrepreneurship program is to impart knowledge, skills and competencies to start your own business venture. To achieve the goal, the program will focus on various aspects of startup, innovation and soft skills which are essential for a successful entrepreneur.

IGNOU started certificate course in Sanskrit
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started certificate course in Sanskrit. Candidates who want to register for this new course can apply online through the official website of IGNOU at ignou.samarth.edu.in. Course in Sanskrit will be available from July 2021 session. Those who have passed class 12 examination can apply online till July 15, 2021. The duration of the course is minimum six months and maximum one year. The course fee is Rs 1500, while the registration fee is Rs 200.

Earlier, the School of Performing and Visual Arts (SOPVA), IGNOU had launched the Master of Arts in Drawing and Painting or MADP programme. IGNOU had said, “The objective of the program is to provide education to discerning students who do not have access to study fine arts through traditional systems.” The program is designed for “serious fine arts students” seeking higher education, and includes core components such as the Elements and Theories of Art, Art History, Art Education, Aesthetic Theories and Research Methods of the University. Accordingly, employed, self-employed, freelancers, designers, painters, textile professionals, interior decorators, school and college teachers, aspiring professionals etc. can avail the program.
