Post Office Small Savings Scheme Account: Now you can open account for small savings schemes of post office like Public Provident Fund, Monthly Income Scheme, Kisan Vikas Patra, National Savings Certificate and Senior Citizens Savings Scheme in all branch offices of post department in rural areas. Till now these schemes were available only in urban branches. To strengthen its network and postal operations in rural areas and reach out to maximum number of people in villages, all its small savings schemes have been extended to every branch of the Department of Posts. There are 131113 branch post offices functioning in rural areas. Now people will be able to get the same post office savings bank facility which people have been taking in urban areas. They will be able to deposit their savings in these popular schemes at the village post office. The Department of Posts has taken a step towards strengthening the rural post offices by taking all its schemes at the doorsteps of the villagers.
These small savings schemes of the post office will get the benefit
Till now the facility of Letter, Speed Post, Parcel, Electronic Money Order, Rural Postal Life Insurance, Post Office Savings Account, Recurring Deposit, Time Deposit and Sukanya Samriddhi Account schemes were available in these branches. Now post office small savings schemes like Public Provident Fund, Monthly Income Scheme, Kisan Vikas Patra, National Savings Certificate and Senior Citizens Savings Scheme will also be available in these branches.
