Good news for the employees of this state: Government increase the dearness allowance from 11.25% to 21.20%

The Karnataka government has ordered the release of additional installments of dearness allowance. These installments were put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. One good thing for the employees is that the state government revised the float allowance from 11.25 per cent to 21.5 per cent. These are for the period from January 2020 to June 2021.

An order issued by the government said, ‘The government is pleased to release additional installments of dearness allowance for the period from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. In such a situation, the rates of dearness allowance payable to the state government employees in the revised pay scale of 2018 will be revised from the existing 11.25 percent of the basic pay to 21.50 percent with effect from July 1, 2021.

Apart from this, there is also good news for such employees who are paid from the Consolidated Fund of the state. In fact, the government also announced to increase the rates of dearness allowance to 21.50 per cent from the existing 11.25 per cent for state government pensioners or family pensioners and pensioners or family pensioners of those educational institutions aided by effect from July 1, 2021. Their pension or family pension is paid from the Consolidated Fund of the state.
