Now driving without keeping hard copy of vehicle document, save data in these apps
If you frequently drive in the Delhi-NCR region and use government-approved apps to store your vehicle documents, your driving license, vehicle RC ( If you do not carry the original copy of Vehicle RC) and other documents, the traffic police cannot stop you. In the latest development, the Delhi government has approved such documents. This means that no police can force you to show a physical copy of your driving license or vehicle RC if you store documents in apps like Digilocker or m-Parivahan. The Transport Department of the Delhi government has issued a notice stating that the driving license and registration certificate available in digital form on the DigiLocker platform or m-Parivahan mobile app are valid documents under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. DigiLocker and m-Parivahan apps are cloud-based platforms for the storage, sharing and verification of documents and certificates.
Documents will be valid in electronic form
The notice also said, “The Traffic Police and the Enforcement Branch of the Transport Department duly accept the electronic form of Driving License and Registration Certificate when displayed in DigiLocker and m-Parivahan App.” The notice also states that electronic records of driving license and registration certificate available on DigiLocker or m-Parivahan are also recognized as original documents in accordance with the provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000.Also Read: Vi 49 Plan Discontinue In Some Circles Now Vodafone Idea Prepaid Plan Begins Rs 79 Check Details
Apps other than Digilocker or m-Parivahan are not valid
