Bajaj Auto has opened the registration of its Electric Scooter Bajaj Chetak in two more cities.
The company has now started the process of registration for Chetak buyers in Chennai (Tamil Nadu) and Hyderabad (Telangana). Apart from Telangana and Tamil Nadu, this electric scooter is also available in two other Indian states – Maharashtra and Karnataka. The Pune-based automaker is continuously expanding the reach of its first battery-powered scooter in India. The company aims to introduce the scooter in 22 Indian cities by 2022.

To recall, the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter was launched in January 2020, almost 15 years after Bajaj Auto decided to shelve the ICE version of the scooter. If you also live in the states (Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Karnataka) then you can book a scooter by paying a token money of Rs.2,000.
This scooter uses an IP67 rated Lithium-Ion battery pack with a capacity of 3kWh. Apart from this, the electric motor given in it generates 4kW of power and 16Nm of peak torque. Apart from this, Bajaj Chetak gives a range of 90 km in Eco mode on a single charge.

Customers can book this scooter through the company’s official website and for this they will have to deposit an amount of Rs 2,000 as booking amount. The Bajaj Chetak e-scooter comes in two variants Urban and Premium. The lower-spec Chetak Urban costs Rs 1.42 lakh, while the top premium variant costs Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).
It comes with features like full LED lighting, illuminated switchgear, Bluetooth-enabled instrument console and smartphone app functions. Apart from this, some of the major rivals of Bajaj Chetak scooter include TVS iQube, Ather 450X and OLA Electric Scooter.
