State-owned telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has reduced the existing SMS tariff by 66.67 percent for BSNL/BSNL e-SIM customers to existing SMS tariffs.
This deduction will be applicable on both on-net and off-net SMS (SMS) in addition to the subscribed tariff plan. BSNL/BSNL has changed the SMS base tariff to 5 paise per SMS (SMS) for On-net SMS (SMS) and 10 paise per SMS (SMS) for other networks for BSNL/BSNL, which means That is, after the free SMS (SMS) expires in the subscribed eSIM or M2M plan, the subscriber will have to pay 5 paise and 10 paise per SMS (SMS) for on-net and off-net messages respectively.
WHAT DOES BSNL SAY?
In an official statement, the telco said, “In M2M tariffs, different plans are created where limited data and limited number of free on-net SMS (SMS) are provided. The charges for on-net (after the free SMS limit) and off-net SMS were 15 paise per SMS. It was pointed out by some regional units that this SMS tariff becomes too high when there is a need for fallback to SMS in areas with no data connectivity. To meet this requirement, different add-on-net SMS (SMS) packs have been introduced and plan/package rate and tariff for on-net SMS (SMS) beyond off-net SMS (SMS) has been amended.”
