New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana: The government continues to take steps for the rural landless families. In this sequence, the Central Government has started the Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana which is run by LIC. It is a social security scheme which is meant to help rural landless families. Who can get the benefit of this scheme?
To take advantage of this scheme, the applicant’s age should be between 18-59 years. Apart from this, only the head of the family can take the benefit of this scheme or the earning member of BPL family can take this scheme. That is, there must be a member whose earnings cover the expenses of the family.
Know the benefits of this scheme
Under this scheme, the beneficiary gets 5 benefits simultaneously.
- If the applicant dies due to natural causes, then under this scheme an amount of Rs 30,000 is given to his family.
- If the person taking the plan dies due to accident, then Rs 75,000 is paid to his nominee.
- If the head of the family becomes physically handicapped in an accident, he will be given Rs 75,000.
- If the person taking the scheme becomes mentally handicapped, then he will have to pay Rs 37,500.
- Under the fifth benefit, if the plan taker dies, two children of the family will be given a scholarship of Rs 100 every month from class 9 to class 12.
No premium to be paid
The biggest feature of this plan is that the premium is Rs 200 per year. In this, 50 percent is filled by the central government and the rest 50 percent by the state government. Overall, the person gets the benefit of the scheme for free.

To take advantage of this scheme, you have to submit 5 necessary documents. You can start this scheme by submitting ration card, birth certificate, school certificate, voter ID card and Aadhar card.
Make a claim like this
In this scheme of the central government, the claim money is transferred to the beneficiary’s account through NEFT. If the facility of NEFT is not there, then after the approval of any officer, the claim amount is sent to the beneficiary’s account. Here the beneficiary himself can be the person taking the scheme when he is getting financial assistance in the event of an accident. At the same time, if the scheme taker dies, then money is sent by LIC to his nominee’s account.
It is worth noting that under this wonderful scheme of the government, in the event of disability, the insured will make a claim himself. For this, he has to submit all the necessary documents along with the claim form. And most importantly, LIC also gives scholarship to the children of the insured under the Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana. The amount of scholarship is Rs 100 per month. This scholarship is given at an interval of 6 months.
