WhatsApp: Very important feature for WhatsApp chats, users will benefit

WhatsApp has started rolling out a very important feature for the users. This feature saves users’ WhatsApp chats on cloud storage with end-to-end encryption. The company has rolled out this feature for iOS and Android users globally. With the advent of end-to-end encrypted backups, users have the option to save chats on iCloud or Google Drive in a better and secure way.

The company is trying to give users the experience of full end-to-end encrypted messaging service with this feature. The company said that users can protect the end-to-end encrypted backup with a password of their choice or a 64-digit encryption key. This password and encryption key will be known only to the users. In such a situation, neither WhatsApp nor the backup service provider will be able to access the chat backup.

How to Create End-to-End Encrypted Backup

1) Open Settings.
2) Tab on Chats and go to Chat Backups option.
3) Here you will see the option of end-to-end encrypted backup.
4) Then tap on Continue and follow the instructions to create a password or key.
5) Then tap on Done and wait for WhatsApp to generate your end-to-end encrypted backup.
6) This process can take a long time. In this case, try to charge the battery of the phone.

Turn off end-to-end encrypted backup

1) Go to Settings.
2) Go to Chat Backup by tapping on Chats.
3) Here turn off the end-to-end encrypted backup option.
4) Enter your password.
5) Confirm that you want to turn off encrypted backup by tapping on Turn off.

WhatsApp has just rolled out this feature for Android beta version 2.21.15.5. Later, the company disabled this feature in the beta update version number 2.21.15.7 released for Android users. However, now the company has again rolled it out for iOS and Android.
