New Delhi: Divyang Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme 2021: Divyang Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme is one of the scholarship schemes launched by the Central Government. Under this, 25,000 thousand students of class 9th and 10th are given financial assistance every year. What is Divyang Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme (DPMSS)
Pre-matric scholarship is given by the central government to the disabled students of class 9th and 10th to continue their studies. During primary and middle school, many students drop out midway due to financial constraints in a developing country like India. Keeping this in mind, the central government started the DPMSS scheme. Under which scholarships are given to 25 thousand students from across the country.
Who gets the scholarship?(DPMSS Eligibility Criteria)
- It is mandatory to be a disabled student of India.
- Students with 40% or more disability will be eligible for the scheme.
- It is necessary to have a valid disability certificate issued by the officer.
- Under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act-2016, it is necessary for the candidates to define disability.
- Two or more disabled children of the family will not get the benefit of the scheme.
- After the first child, if twins are born with disabilities, then three children will get the benefit of the scheme.
- The scholarship is for one year. If you take admission in the same class after failing, you will not get the benefit of the scheme.
- The candidates taking advantage of this scheme cannot take advantage of other scholarship schemes.
- The family income of the candidates should not exceed 2.5 lakhs.
- Candidate should be a student of Government or Registered Secondary School.

How much scholarship will I get?
Under the scheme, Rs 500 per month will be given to regular students and Rs 800 per month to students studying in hostels.
Book grant and disability allowance will be available from 2000 to 4000 rupees.
Candidates who have taken advantage of the Renewal Scheme (DPMSS Renewal) scheme, who have passed the current class, can apply once again.
On what basis will you get scholarship
- Visually Handicapped – Rs 4000 annually
- Hearing Impaired – Rs 2000 per annum
- Physically Handicapped (OH) – Rs.2000 per annum
- Intellectual Disability – Rs 4000 annually
- Apart from these four persons with disabilities will be given an annual allowance of Rs.2000.
