The Delhi government has decided to increase the rates of liquor. These orders have come into force with immediate effect. For this, the Finance Department of Delhi Government has issued a notification. With the implementation of the new system, the prices of liquor in Delhi will increase by up to 10 percent. For this, the Delhi Government has amended the Delhi Value Added Tax Act 2004.
According to the orders, the arrangement of liquor is divided into two categories. In the first category, the duty on domestically manufactured foreign liquor (Faran and Indian Made Faran Liquor) for consumption outside the premises, from wholesaler to retailer, has been kept at one paise in rupees, while for off-premises, this fee has been kept at Rs.25. There will be money. This notification has been issued by Deputy Secretary Finance Ravindra Kumar. Similarly, the system has been implemented for the retail traders as well. It will come into effect from 17 September 2021. This arrangement will be one paise in rupee, whereas in premises such as hotels, clubs and hotels, this fee will be 25 paise.
A copy of the orders in this regard has been sent to all the departments. It is being told that these provisions have been made for the provisions of the new excise policy. Whatever is in stock at various liquor shops right now. The sale will be done as per the prescribed rules. After the implementation of the new policy, licenses have now been given to new shops. Now all the government fees will be deposited in these licenses also. Therefore, in the coming days, only the private operators will decide the rate at which liquor will be sold at these shops.
No license required for programs
As per the new excise policy, provisional P-10 license will not be required for serving liquor at wedding functions, parties and other events in licensed premises of banquet halls, farm houses, motels and other such places. The P-10 license will be replaced by an L-38 license for one year, which will be granted on payment of a fee of Rs 5 to 15 lakh, depending on the size of the licensed premises.
The Excise Department, Government of Delhi released the terms and conditions for applications for L-38 license under the new Excise Policy for 2021-22. The government order states that after obtaining the license for one year, no separate P-10 license will be required for any event at these places.
