Amidst these reports, many interesting things about Alia and Ranbir are coming to the fore. Their first dating, family relations etc. One of these questions also arises on the citizenship of Alia. Alia is not an Indian citizen despite being an Indian actress. She holds British citizenship. Being a British citizenship, Alia does not even vote.
What did Alia say on Indian citizenship
A few years ago, in an interview, Alia talked about voting and her citizenship. She had said- ‘Unfortunately I cannot vote because I have a British passport. Next time I will try to vote in the elections when I get dual citizenship (there is no provision of dual citizenship in India.)’
Her father Mahesh Bhatt had once talked about Alia’s British citizenship. She had said- Alia’s mother Soni Razdan is of British origin. She was born in Birmingham. So Alia automatically got British citizenship.
KRK’s taunt on Alia-Akshay
Many times Akshay Kumar has also come under the target of people regarding citizenship. Akshay Kumar holds Canadian citizenship. Kamal R Khan (KRK) has also made a ruckus about this many times. Recently, in a tweet, she again taunted the celebs on citizenship. She tweeted- ‘If I become Prime Minister even for an hour, then my first task will be to take Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt and Jacqueline Fernandes out of the country and send them to their country.’
If I will become PM even for one hour, then my very first job will be deportation of @AkshayKumar @aliaa08 and @Asli_Jacqueline to their home countries.

Apart from Alia and Akshay, some other Bollywood stars also hold foreign citizenship. Deepika Padukone, Imran Khan, Sunny Leone, Katrina Kaif also hold foreign citizenship.
