Today is the birthday of actress Deepika Chikhaliya, who plays Mother Sita in ‘Ramayana’ produced by Ramanand Sagar. Dipika Chikhaliya was born on this day in 1965 in Mumbai. Deepika Chikhaliya once told the story of her casting in ‘The Kapil Sharma’ show. She had told, “I was shooting with her (Ramanand Sagar) for the TV serial ‘Vikram Aur Betal’. The shooting of ‘Vikram Aur Betal’ was happening at Papaji’s (Ramanand Sagar) bungalow. One day I saw that her There are many children jumping and jumping near the bungalow. I thought maybe some sister-in-law must have called the children to teach them. But, then later I came to know that there auditions of ‘Luv-Kush’ for the serial ‘Ramayana’ were walking.”

Deepika Chikhaliya further added, “A few days later, I got a call from Papaji (Ramanandji). When I picked up the call, Papaji said, ‘Kudi tu bhi set par aa jaa hum tera mata sita ke role kar lete hain’. . I was surprised. I said papaji, I worked with you in two-three serials, why film auditions? Then papaji said, ‘I want to cast such a Sita in my serial, whom the audience can understand on seeing. If we walk with the sisters, then the audience will automatically recognize that this is Mother Sita, I do not have to introduce her. Then I gave four-five screen tests for the role of Mata Sita, only then I got selected.
