HDFC Bank Senior Special FD: HDFC Bank has extended the date of Special FD for senior citizens. This special Senior Citizen Care FD was launched in May 2020 amid the Covid pandemic.
Now you can invest in this special plan till 7 July 2023. This information is given by the official website of the bank.
HDFC Bank Senior Citizen Special FD
This FD offers an additional interest rate of 25 bps over and above the existing 50 bps . This FD is less than 5 crores. Its tenure is 5 years from one day to 10 years. HDFC Bank told on its website that this FD will start from May 18, 2020 and will remain till July 7, 2023.
If you want to invest in this FD then you can invest in this FD till 7th July. This facility is only for those customers who want to book new FD or want to renew it.
Senior Citizen Special FD Pre-Mature Withdrawal
If for some reason you want to close the FD before 5 years , then you will get 1.00% less interest than the base interest rate. On the other hand, if you close the FD after 5 years, then the interest rate will be 1.25% less. In either case, the interest rate or the contracted rate will be lower of the applicable base rate for the period the deposit remains with the bank.
HDFC Bank Senior Citizen Special FD Interest Rate
In HDFC Bank’s Senior Citizen Special FD, the bank offers you 7.75% interest on FDs of 5 years 1 day to 10 years. At the same time, the bank gives you interest ranging from 3.5% to 7.75% on FDs of 7 days to 10 years. This rate has come into effect from 29 May 2023.
